Thank you for visiting Sunrise Ridge Farm's website. Our mission is to provide beef that is humanely raised and free of hormones and antibiotics. We raise Belted Galloway cattle on our property in Durham, CT; a place we have named Sunrise Ridge Farm. This farm was created with a lot of hard work and determination to turn the overgrown forest into pasture, but more importantly it is our home. We are working professionals with a passion and respect for farming. We are committed to giving care and attention to our cattle which is why we intentionally keep our herd small.

Just look at these beauties! We raise Belted Galloway cattle or “Belties” for short. Belties are an ancient breed of Galloway cattle that are rugged, efficient, and able to convert a wide range of forages into delicious meat. The Belted Galloway’s first recorded history indicates that they developed during the 16th Century in the former Galloway district of Scotland, a rugged and hilly seacoast region where hardiness was necessary for survival.
